Job description
Overview

Lead PMC construction supervision for metro stations (overground and underground), electrical systems: MV/LV distribution, transformers/switchgear, UPS/EPMS, lighting & emergency power, earthing & lightning protection, and electrical support to station systems (HVAC, lifts/escalators, fire alarm, BMS/SCADA, AFC, CCTV, telecom). Ensure redundancy, reliability, and life‑safety compliance in overground/underground environments per Employer’s Requirements and D&B contracts.

Your role
Power Distribution & Reliability
  • Supervise installation of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, distribution boards, cabling, earthing, and UPS; verify redundancy (ring/dual feeds), selectivity, and protective coordination align with station loads (HVAC, lifts, safety systems).
  • Review short‑circuit, load flow, and selectivity studies; witness equipment FAT/SAT and site acceptance.
Codes & Fire/Life Safety
  • Enforce NFPA 130 electrical requirements (cable ratings, smoke/flame performance, wiring in stations/trainways), NEC/NFPA 70 references; ensure 1‑hour fire‑resistive cable applications where specified.
Systems Integration
  • Coordinate electrical interfaces with BMS/SCADA, fire alarm, AFC, PSD, security, telecom, and mechanical loads; validate control power, network connectivity, and time synchronization.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
  • Monitor ITP/WIRs; maintain inspection records; manage punch lists/NCRs; support O&M documentation, spares lists, and asset registers for handover.
Contract Administration (FIDIC/PMC)
  • Provide measurement inputs, certify bills, and report progress; support claims avoidance and resolution; act under RE guidance per FIDIC roles.
Safety
  • Enforce electrical safety protocols (lock‑out/tag‑out, arc‑flash boundaries), confined space, and emergency power availability testing.
About you
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 12+ years total experience and should have gained considerable knowledge working on metro rail station construction; design review and site supervision under design‑build/FIDIC preferred.
  • Previous experience working on metro/rail projects and specifically at metro station construction is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 130, NEC/NFPA 70, and IEC/EN railway electronics/environmental standards relevant to station equipment or similar.
  • Power system studies review, protection coordination, QA/QC, interface management across multi‑system station environments (E&M + systems).
  • Familiarity with industry codes and regulations.
  • Reports to Resident Engineer (MEP); supervises E&M Site Inspectors.
