Description

Amazon is seeking a dynamic and customer-obsessed Supervisor to lead and develop teams within our fast-paced AMZL (Amazon Logistics) and FC (Fulfillment Center) environments. This role will encompass responsibilities across both areas, requiring a versatile leader who can thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing operational landscape. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient workflows, exceeding customer expectations, and driving continuous improvement. Key job responsibilities

  1. Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations within both AMZL and FC environments, including managing teams of Operations Supervisors, Operations Assistants, Delivery Service Providers, and associates (ranging from approximately 30-40). This includes allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and maintaining exceptional organizational skills.
  2. Team Management: Lead, train, and develop high-performing teams. Foster a positive and motivating work environment, driving engagement and performance while ensuring associate safety and adherence to Amazon's Health and Safety standards.
  3. Performance Management: Be obsessed with metrics, diving deep to identify root causes of performance issues, and implementing effective solutions. Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements across both AMZL and FC processes.
  4. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes. Find practical and simple solutions to complex problems without compromising quality or functionality. Utilize problem-solving and analytical skills to drive Dive Deep analyses and implement process enhancements. Become a subject matter expert on core operational processes.
  5. Communication & Collaboration: Communicate daily metrics and report exceptions. Effectively communicate with business and technical audiences, influencing decisions and driving alignment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve operational challenges and share best practices. Manage external agency relationships and performance.
  6. Problem Solving & Decision Making: Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Act decisively in a fast-paced environment, exercising sound judgment and making informed decisions.
  7. Technology & Tools: Continuously utilize software and hardware tools to ensure smooth daily operations. Ensure associates have the necessary tools and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed. Support the rollout and implementation of new systems and processes, gathering feedback and providing support.
  8. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory accuracy within the FC environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • 1+ years employee and performance management experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts (AMZL).
  • Strong team player with the ability to motivate others.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
  • Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
