Job summary

A national aviation authority in the UAE seeks to hire an individual with expertise in aerodrome operations to support inspections, audits, and oversight activities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in aviation and at least 5 years of experience in the airline sector. Responsibilities include assisting with audits, document management, safety policy promotion, and collaborating with a multi-national team. Proficiency in English is required, and familiarity with Arabic is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience at an international airport or equivalent within UAE Aviation System.
  • Understanding of CAR Part IX - Aerodromes and ICAO Annex 14.
  • Experience in Accident/Incident Investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Support Aerodrome Inspectors in audit preparation and activities.
  • Assist in maintenance of certificates and approvals.

Job description
Certification/Approval, Audit and Continued Oversight
  • Support Aerodrome Inspectors in audit preparation and conduct pre- and post-audit activities.
  • Provide direct support during oversight activities including inspections, compliance and management systems by documenting interviews and collecting/organizing audit evidences.
  • Produce Q-pulse (reports and manuals): AIP; ROSI; VORSY; e-service certification, post holders, projects and approvals data for the inspections and audits during the preparation stage.
  • Provide direct support for document reviews and technical inspections further to e-services submissions for Manual Acceptances, ANA related Approvals and Aerodrome Projects including verification of works completion.
  • Assist in maintenance of certificates, approvals and acceptances including renewals, quality reviews and maintenance of associated non-compliance register.
Industry Networking
  • Tracking and follow up of actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparation of industry working papers, PMO updates, award submissions and customer service inputs according to Section input and in alignment with UAE national initiatives.
Internal Surveillance Program:
  • Assist in the implementation of corrective actions raised against the section during internal surveillance program to ascertain alignment of Safety Affairs standards in line with international standards and continuous improvements.
  • Support oversight implementation of administration processes to ensure ongoing compliance with procedures such as archiving and document retention.
  • Support in developing and implementing an internal section audit plan to ensure the continued validity, improvement, effective implementation of section internal procedures.
External Audits:
  • Support the administration of all auditing activities by external entities of Safety Affairs including ICAO, and IMS to ensure smooth and productive audit.
  • Provide support to the Sector, sharing best practice, trends and the findings of reviews, studies and investigations to prevent future occurrences/incidents/accidents.
  • Support the line manager in the collection and documenting of PQ related evidences;
  • Ensure that all documents related to PQ are collected and evidences for such item that need aerodrome visits by the USOAP audit team are compiled well in advance.
  • Support in the stand‑alone audits (apart from the regular surveillance audits), that are needed to establish states oversight of certain activities as mentioned in the USOAP PQ;
  • Provide technical and administrative support during USOAP Audit;
  • Ensure EFOD filing are up to date and carry out quality check of the same.
Document Management
  • Assistinthemaintenanceofcomprehensiverecordsofrelevantcertification,reports,correspondence,recommendationsandgeneraldocumentstoensureanaccuraterecordandevidencebase.
  • Ensurecorrectproceduresandprocess relatingtoANA and GCAAeServicesarefollowedandallrelevantdocumentationiscorrectlyuploadedtotheANAFileReference,Q-Pulse,eServicesandincidentsystemsuchasROSI and VORSYasrequired.
  • Maintain section index of forms and procedures to ensure they are reviewed on a regular basis and updates are submitted as required.
  • Assist in maintenance of Service Cards and ANA e-Services to ensure correct information in communicated to external stakeholders
Safety Policy / Safety Promotion and Culture
  • Assist in providing input into the identification of Acceptable Levels of Safety Performance (ALOSP) to ensure appropriate and achievable targets are set.
  • Review and classify safety reports according to the prevailing GCAA taxonomy and ECCAIRs classifications.
  • Improve and implement safety promotion activities to disseminate and nurture a safety awareness culture in the UAE civil aviation industry using GCAA systems and Social Media to keep industry players abreast of changes to relevant rules, regulations, and other aviation safety developments.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Sector, sharing best practice, trends and the findings of reviews, studies, and investigations to prevent future occurrences/incidents/accidents.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of aerodrome operations and preferably at least 5 years’ experience at an international airport or equivalent experiences within the UAE Aviation System.
  • Must have an understanding of CAR Part IX - Aerodromes, ICAO Annex 14 and associated documents.
  • Must have basic knowledge of SMS both theory and practical
  • Competent communicator with good influencing skills
