Charterhouse are working with a growing technology company in the networking equipment space. Our client develops the Network Operating Systems that power critical data centre and telecom routing and switching infrastructure. They are looking to hire a Network Architect to support 200+ engineers in building next-generation networking software.
The Network Architect will act as an internal consultant for software engineers, QA and management teams on networking design decisions. The role will be tasked with validating the network protocols by reviewing BGP, EVPN, MPLS, SPF implementations to ensure they follow RFCs correctly, and offer QA strategy support by helping teams design realistic topologies.
Additionally, responsibilities include creating the internal guidelines for engineers to use when necessary, and provide any additional mentorship to the engineers to ensure networking decisions are made correctly. This role is about shaping design decisions and ensuring this greenfield NOS understands how real networks behave upon deployment.
The successful candidate must have expert-level networking knowledge (CCIE / HCIE level), and should have extensive experience in data centres or telecom networking with large-scale deployment experience. The candidate should have Linux networking proficiency and a strong working knowledge of testing methodology. It is essential to have deep protocol expertise and ASIC mapping knowledge, and should understand how protocol requirements translate to TCAM/SRAM resources.
