Position: MEP Estimation Engineer

Location: Sharjah, UAE

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking an MEP Estimation Engineer to join our engineering team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background with hands‑on experience in reading mechanical equipment drawings and preparing estimation/work quantities for water‑treatment projects. Candidates should have strong attention to detail and must be comfortable working with mechanical layouts such as pump stations, piping systems, and equipment assemblies used in water and wastewater treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and understand mechanical equipment drawings and layouts used in water‑treatment systems (e.g., pump stations, filtration units, piping & valve arrangements).
  • Perform material and quantity take‑offs based on approved drawings and technical specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimations, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and support proposal preparation.
  • Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to verify material requirements.
  • Assist in preparing technical and commercial estimation documents.
  • Update and maintain cost databases, supplier quotations, and estimation templates.
  • Ensure all estimation work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within deadlines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in MEP estimation, material take‑offs.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, tables, comparisons, basic calculations).
  • Good to have: AutoCAD skills (ability to view drawings, extract information, annotate).
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
