Job summary

Job Title: Mechanical Technician (SMP1) Shift

Job Description:

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician (SMP1) with experience in steel plant operations. The candidate will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment within the Steel Melt Plant (SMP1) during shift operations ensuring minimum downtime and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of equipment in SMP1.
• Support shift operations to ensure smooth production activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance as per schedule and report any abnormalities.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in a steel plant (SMP1 or similar environment).
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes and mechanical systems.
• Willing to work in rotational shifts.
