Job summary

A reputable engineering firm in Sharjah is seeking a Mechanical Assessment Specialist to inspect and assess damages for insured vehicles. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2-3 years of experience, and strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems. You will prepare detailed reports, analyze loss causes, and ensure compliance with insurance regulations. An effective communicator with a UAE Driving License is a must. Responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess mechanical damages, nature, cause, and extent of damage to insured vehicles or heavy vehicles following accidents or failures.
  • Analyze causes of loss, determine the extent of damage, and estimate repair or replacement costs.
  • Verify coverage, policy conditions, and claim authenticity to detect potential fraud or non-claimable damages.
  • Prepare detailed survey and assessment reports supported by technical evidence and photographic documentation.
  • Review workshop quotations, repair estimates, and validate the reasonableness of claimed amounts.
  • Collaborate with loss adjusters, insurers, and repair facilities to reach fair and timely settlements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations for loss prevention.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, insurance laws, and regulatory standards.
  • Support the team in technical discussions, policy interpretation, and expert opinions when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, photos, and communication for each assigned claim.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum [2–3] years of experience in mechanical assessment, inspection, or loss adjusting (insurance sector experience preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and automotive components.
  • Strong report writing, technical skills, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • UAE Driving License (A Must).
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, prioritization, and time management.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
