Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The position is responsible for overseeing all mechanical works on-site, ensuring that construction activities comply with approved designs, standards, specifications and local authority regulations.

  • Monitor, inspect and supervise all mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting and mechanical equipment installations.
  • Review contractors’ shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and technical proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and issue NCRs/SORs when required to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure that installations conform to approved IFC drawings and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with the contractor, client representatives and other engineering disciplines to resolve site‑related technical issues.
  • Participate in progress meetings, technical meetings and coordination workshops.
  • Provide timely input and recommendations to support smooth site operations.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on mechanical works progress and quality issues.
  • Verify and validate quantities for mechanical works to support payment certificates.
  • Maintain proper documentation of site inspections, test results, RFIs and correspondence.
  • Supervise and witness testing, commissioning and balancing of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and other mechanical systems.
  • Ensure all systems meet the project’s performance requirements and UAE authority standards.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12 years of work experience partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Relevant experience on building construction projects.
  • Previous experience with mall or mixed‑use projects in the UAE, particularly in Abu Dhabi.
  • Previous experience working with a consultancy in a supervision role is essential.
  • Must have prior experience in Abu Dhabi and must have strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication, reporting and site management skills.
