Job summary

A leading event management venue in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a seasoned manager to oversee event operations. Responsibilities include setting project targets, improving workflow efficiency, and managing logistics for exhibitions. Candidates must have at least 10 years of relevant experience and a university degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel is required. Job description
  • Set the team mid and end year projects and targets to achieve
  • Improve efficiency of the department and create new initiatives to improve the workflow and have new revenue streams from within the department
  • Take the lead on some destination management projects and complete them within budget and timelines
  • Provide event technical expertise to the Planning & Operations team
  • Liaise with the Panning & Operations team and clients, attend / arrange operational meetings, propose solutions and manage problems and challenges Assess recurrent customers’ challenge reviews and propose solutions
  • Provide day-to-day expertise to various technical, professional, and/or administrative personnel engaged in specified project activities, as appropriate to the position
  • Plan Venue readiness for Contractors and Organizers for all events and assess back-to-back tenancy and concourse usage impact and communicate pro-active operational plans
  • Ensure SLAs and SOPs are created and monitored where required between departments and process put in place regarding any new projects
  • Carry out event operational risk assessment and coordinate with all departments as and when required
  • Due to the nature of the work, sometimes require to work weekends, evenings and long hours and at various venues managed by DWTC
  • Some client meetings may take place off site or at an alternative venue and Travel may be required
Formal Education
  • University Degree or Equivalent Professional Qualification
Work Experience
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a managerial role in an event or venue operational role. Experience of large exhibition build-up and tear-down logistics
Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to manage own time to ensure targets are hit
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to identify key revenue sources
  • Very good knowledge of event HSE standards
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with the public
