    JOB PURPOSE:

    To drive improvements in the departments under OICG’s scope by strengthening operational health through Operational Risk Assessments, Internal Controls, and Operational Reviews. Continuously strive to enhance operational efficiency and support the effective management of operational risk.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Policies & Procedures: Follow all the relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

    Always demonstrate compliance to organisation’s values and ethics to support the establishment of a value drive culture within the bank.

    Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

    Reporting: Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements, policies and quality standards.

    5. Job Context

    Risk Assessments: Effectively and independently carry out the Risk Assessment to monitor and control the residual risks identified by following the Group Operational Risk Management (“GORM”) policies and framework at Group Operations (“GOPS”), Credit Administration (“CAD”) and International Operations.

    Incident Management: Manage all the incidents in Archer system right from Control Failure till mitigation including determination of owner of the incident to log the incidents

    KRI / RCSA / Action Plans: Follow up & track the timelines of all phases of RCSAs from Risk Identification to Action Planning for residual risks including the KRI monitoring

    Issue Remediation: Assist and support the assigned functional units within OICG scope to remediate and

    Periodic Reviews: Assist in implementing robust tools and processes to identify, mitigate, assist the functional units within OICG’s scope on operational risks, by way of internal reviews & tracking open issues for closure.

    Carry out independent operational reviews to support functional units to identify, mitigate, assist Group Operations on Operational Risks

    AML & Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring Anti Money Laundering (“AML”), Central Bank (“CB UAE”) Guidelines and other internal policies / procedures are strictly followed, and any deviations are reported to levels prescribed.

    Initiatives: Provide efficient support in demonstrating proactive pursuit of initiatives undertaken by OICG and any external initiatives assigned to OICG and develop exception reports to suit the internal control and operational reviews.

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline.
    • 3-5 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 3 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the Risk Management function.
    • Fair understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to operational risk
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex concepts to diverse audience
    • Professional certifications in the field of Operational risk management or equivalent are highly desirable
    • Skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at the executive level
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
