Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all automotive machining is accomplished in accordance with all technical manuals, KPIs and OEM specifications.
  • Perform quality maintenance actions as part of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System program.
  • Perform automotive machining using a variety of both Standard and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) honing and boring machinery, vertical and horizontal milling machinery, crankshaft and camshaft grinding machinery, magnaflux and metal disintegration equipment.
  • Ensure that all precision measuring instruments are maintained and calibrated in accordance with OEM technical data.
  • Complete maintenance related documentation such as maintenance tasks accomplished, direct labour hours consumed, vehicle specific information, spare part request forms, etc.
  • Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
  • Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
  • Perform cyclic inspections and maintenance of all automotive machinery and their associated accessories, which includes the submission of facility related service requests.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
  • Support other members of the Overhaul Workshop in fulfilling their roles.
  • Perform other duties as required by their line manager and/or department manager.
Experience and Education:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience performing automotive and/or industrial machining is required.
  • Previous automotive machinist training is an advantage.
Key Skills:
  • Previous experience using precision measuring instruments is an advantage.
  • The ability to use CNC lathes and milling machines is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in the use of SAP and Microsoft software is preferred.
