Job summary

A logistics and coordination firm in Dubai is looking for a Logistics Coordinator. Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordination with Sales dept. regarding LC opening and request of amendment if there is any.
  • Monitoring of shipping schedule from each factory and LC follow sheet furnished by Sales dept.
  • Examine, check and verify LC conditions for compliance.
  • Prepares Shipping Instructions with CO instructions (if required by customer) and send them to factories along with LC copy.
  • Coordination with Advising Banks on Arrival, Confirmation of LC, update LC follow and monitoring receipt of original LC.
  • Coordination with the Accounts department for payments to Shipping Co., Embassies, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
  • Coordination with respective factories for document copies needed for the preparation of LC documents for negotiation.
  • Coordination with Shipping Companies regarding confirmation and BL issuance and shipping certificates (if required on LC) in Dubai.
  • Send shipment advice to customers. Shipment summary for a customer with multiple shipments / Invoices is required for their advance reconciliation.
  • Processing of documents needed for LC negotiation in accordance with the LC terms and conditions such as invoice, packing list, CO and legalization of documents.
  • Upon completion of LC requirements, negotiation of documents to the banks. Update negotiation record and monitor bank dispatch, receipt of proceeds through discounting for usance LC or sight payment.
  • Registration of Sales to JUST system.
  • Submission of sales evidence set (company Invoice, factory invoice and BL copy) to Accounts Department for recording and posting.
  • Provide assistance to each distributor with regards to clearing and any other documentation requirements.
  • Any other admin errand or task as assigned by the superior.
Qualifications and Skills
  • With relevant graduate or bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Logistics coordination (preferably with Letter of Credits knowledge / experience)
  • Experience in automotive industry is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office skills (especially in excel) and database software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and other preferred traits (e.g., attention to detail, deadline-driven, time management, flexible, adaptable, calm demeanor, confident in carrying out tasks, quick learner etc.)
