Responsibilities
  • Single-point responsibility for all Instrument and Controls System design and engineering deliverables, conforming to applicable engineering codes and standards and Client policies
  • Definition of plant overall ICSS controls architecture
  • Coordination of I&C team and reporting to Project or Engineering Manager on project-related matters
  • Support planning, scheduling and execution of discipline activities and deliverables, including man-hour estimating and schedule preparation for bid/tendering as required
  • Ownership of I&C schedule and planning; manage discipline work to the required schedule and manpower allocation, including day-to-day supervision of discipline personnel on the project (timesheets, holiday and OT approvals where delegated)
  • Manage and report progress of all I&C engineering and design budgets in line with contract requirements, including weekly and cumulative productivity
  • Identify areas of concern regarding progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with management of change processes (technical and financial)
  • Provide direction and guidance on technical queries relating to I&C engineering and raise appropriate E&Q deviations
  • Participate in project safety and design reviews as necessary
  • Ensure work is completed without compromising quality and delivered to project schedule
  • Liaise with Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff to ensure a consistent approach and project conclusion within the technical scope
  • Take ownership for Risk Identification, Assessment, Mitigation, Monitoring and Close Out for the discipline
  • Promote safe behavior at all times and provide technically sound advice for diverse technical problems
  • Encourage smarter ways of working and continuous improvement within the department; capture and share lessons learned
Qualifications

Skills And Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline (I&C or EC)
  • At least 15 years’ experience with instrumentation in the Oil & Gas environment
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role on FPSO/offshore projects; offshore experience is a must
  • Experience with FED, detail design, RLE and EPC projects
  • Fully conversant with international codes and standards
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
  • Assurance of tender and supply for all I&C equipment
  • Basic knowledge in SPI
  • Thorough knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G and SCADA systems typically used in major brownfield oil/gas offshore projects
