A Kitchen Steward at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, a Forbes Five‑Star Hotel, plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of our kitchen and back‑of‑house operations. This position supports our culinary team by ensuring that all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety, contributing to an exceptional experience for both Guests and Team Members.

What will I be doing?

As a Kitchen Steward, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout all back‑of‑house kitchen areas. You will operate pot‑washing and dish‑washing machinery, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and ensure that all equipment, utensils, and workspaces are cleaned and stored according to established standards.

  • Maintain an organized, clean and sanitized back‑of‑house Food & Drinks area and provide all outlets and banquets with clean operating equipment based on expected business levels.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean, well‑maintained and organized at all times.
  • Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times.
  • Collect and remove trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.
  • Dispose of waste as per the hotel and authority standards and adhere to recycling guidelines.
  • Keep the waste bin area clean and tidy.
  • Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures.
  • Carry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping, washing up, emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers.
  • Always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Report any maintenance and hazard issues to the Assistant Chief Steward.
  • Maintain the highest level of kitchen cleanliness and sanitation at all times.
  • Correct and safe use of cleaning chemicals, detergents, and PPE.
  • Proper handling and cleaning of kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishwashing machines.
  • Ensure waste segregation, recycling, and disposal as per hotel and municipality standards.
  • Ensure floors are dry and safe to prevent slips and accidents.
  • Attend and comply with mandatory hygiene, safety, and fire training.
  • Support kitchen operations during high business levels and banquets.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management as required for operations.
