Job description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Jr Sous Chef specializing in Cold Kitchen to join our culinary team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Jr Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, focusing on the preparation and presentation of cold dishes, appetizers, and salads.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in managing the cold kitchen section
  • Prepare and present high-quality cold dishes including salads, appetizers, and desserts
  • Develop and implement new menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Manage inventory and minimize food waste in the cold kitchen
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in cold food preparation techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
  • Assist in cost control and budget management for the cold kitchen section
  • Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth overall operations
  • Participate in menu planning and seasonal menu changes

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
  • 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen with a focus on cold kitchen operations
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in various food preparation techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Current food safety certification
  • Experience in menu planning and recipe development
  • Proficiency in inventory management and food cost control
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities
