Overview Of The Role

The Physical Inventory Assistant role is critical in ensuring a positive shopping experience by maintaining stock integrity and reducing discrepancies and shrinkages. The role involves assisting with the execution of physical inventory counts across various store sections, overseeing recovery counts, and ensuring accurate system records. Success in this position supports IKEA's operational standards and enhances customer satisfaction through reliable stock availability.

What You Will Do
  • Assist the Senior Physical Inventory Controller in executing the physical inventory for the store, covering Self-Serve, Full Serve, Market Hall, and Display counts.
  • Oversee Recovery counts, ensuring detailed records are maintained.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently in warehouse and retail environments, with a strong adherence to safety, accuracy, and compliance with operational standards.
  • Provide updates to the Senior Physical Inventory on stock loss during both mid-year and year-end inventories.
  • Ensure visitor satisfaction by maintaining stock integrity and minimizing discrepancies.
  • Keep detailed records to ensure system and physical quantities match.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction through reliable stock availability and accuracy.
  • Ensure that system and physical quantities are aligned through meticulous stock counts.
  • Conduct stock counts in alignment with the physical inventory calendar.
  • Maintain stock holding value by precise inventory management.
Required Skills To Be Successful
  • Proficient IT skills, especially with Excel for inventory tracking and analysis.
  • Strong forklift operating skills with a valid license.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on customer satisfaction and maintain accountability in inventory accuracy.
What Qualifies You For The Role
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in retail and warehousing, preferably in stock handling or inventory roles.
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures and methods.
  • Experience operating forklifts, with knowledge of safety standards and compliance.
  • Proven ability in handling stock movements and providing warehouse operational support.
