Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform tests and inspections of lifting gears, lifting equipment, and pressure equipment.
  • Perform tests and inspections of cradle passenger hoists, escalators, elevators, travellators, MEWPs, and all man-riding equipment.
  • Prepare, review, and approve test procedures and lifting plans.
  • Conduct site surveys, prepare work/project plans, and provide estimates.
  • Develop and execute customized load test methods and procedures.
  • Perform duties as a lifting supervisor or lifting engineer on-site.
  • Conduct failure analysis or incident investigations.
  • Provide consultation services and lifting solutions to clients.
  • Handle technical queries and clarifications from the sales team.
  • Witness and endorse tests and inspections.
  • Prepare and deliver vocational and health & safety training courses.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for inspection activities.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and safety meetings.
  • Report near misses, accidents, and incidents immediately to the concerned personnel.
  • Follow procedures and work instructions during duties.
  • Report and log test instrument usage and any defective equipment.
  • Maintain calibration status of test instruments.
  • Provide technical training and input to new engineers and workshop staff.
  • Prepare and submit certificates and reports of completed tests and inspections on time.
  • Participate actively in company training sessions and seminars.

Requirements

BSc. Engineering Degree (preferably in mechanical, electrical, industrial electronics, mechatronics, or civil) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years for BSc. degree holders working in engineering disciplines related to lifting equipment, scaffolding, or pressure equipment; at least six (6) years for diploma holders.

Skills: Familiarity with inspection techniques for various equipment, knowledge of manufacturing processes, understanding of equipment usage and potential defects, computer literacy, report writing skills, and knowledge of measuring instruments used for inspection and testing.
