The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HUB MEA SCM Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be accountable for overseeing and optimizing the end‑to‑end supply chain processes and strategies in line with company and business strategy. The HUB SCM Manager leads a team of specialists to execute sourcing and procurement strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality and reliability of suppliers. The HUB MEA SCM is responsible for an annual spend of around 200 MUSD.

How you'll make an impact
  • Contributing to the definition, implementation and execution of HBU spend management and sourcing strategies for direct material and services in line with the global strategy. Leads SCM activities across the HBU countries and continuously optimizes sourcing processes and the selection of competitive suppliers. Acts as a sponsor of Global and Regional Category Teams ensuring all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly including but not limited to project teams engineering and SCM.
  • Securing annual targets together with the GPG SCM Manager for cost reduction, supplier quality, supplier delivery performance, sustainability, material compliance etc. Ensures long‑term planning as well as monthly monitoring of results and encourages continuous improvement.
  • Establishing excellent and transparent communication internally, externally and between different units. Standardizes processes and implements routines in accordance with Group SCM guidelines and business objectives. Secures full utilization of SCM tools leveraging each respective tool to drive global synergies, efficiencies and global supply optimization.
  • Implementing Hitachi Energy standards on sustainability and business ethics as well as the Supplier Code of Conduct. Ensures the audit of suppliers and monitors audit reports as well as improvement activities based on audit conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies and SCM excellence guidelines (knowledge management, functional training etc.). Responsible for coordinating SCM learning & development, talent management and succession planning within the assigned area.

Your background
  • A university degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a supply chain function and a project environment.
  • Extensive experience in the industrial environment and Supply Chain Management.
  • You possess good technical knowledge in power transmission and distribution technologies.
  • You are an analytical leader and a team player with an independent and solution‑oriented working style as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills.
  • Your previous experience in a multicultural environment along with a high degree of intercultural sensitivity will help you lead and motivate teams effectively by influence.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required. Additionally proficiency in Arabic is desirable.
