Job summary

A leading inspection services company in the UAE is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer. The ideal candidate will design and implement the HSE Management System, define HSE standards, and oversee compliance within the organization. Applicants should have a degree in engineering and at least 5 years of experience in HSE activities within the manufacturing or oil and gas industry, along with relevant certifications. This is a full-time position with significant responsibilities in ensuring the safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Engineering (Preferably Industrial/Mechanical/Electromechanical/Electrical).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE activities in Manufacturing or Engineering Industry within UAE.
• Experienced in Oil and Gas Industry with necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

• Define HSE standards and ensure compliance.
• Oversee HSE performance in corporate and site settings.
• Approve procedures and design all HSE activities.
• Train personnel in HSE and conduct audits.

Skills

Engineering Degree (Industrial/Mechanical/Electromechanical/Electrical)

International exposure

Oil and Gas industry experience

Lead Auditor ISO 45001 certification

Nebosh HSE certification

Job description

LIN SCAN is searching for the HSE Engineer who will be in charge of the design and implementation of the HSE Management System. The objective is to become increasingly effective in quality terms and in meeting both regulatory and accreditation requirements. The responsibility of the HSE Engineer is to define HSE standards for all systems and ensure compliance; promote quality achievement and performance improvement of the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities

• Defining Policies & Strategies for HSE that are reported to the Top Management
• Setting standards for health, safety and environment
• Defining competencies for HSE Department team members
• Overseeing the performance of all aspects pertaining to HSE in Corporate Office and at site
• Promoting the competency development of personnel in the scope of HSE
• Approving procedures for the company manually & IT ERP
• Designing and implementing all activities pertaining to HSE
• Recommending resources budgets (assets including people) for the Department to Top Management
• Training personnel in process areas including internal auditors (including HSE)
• Approving all documents and records pertaining to HSE
• Implementing all applicable HSE standards
• Deciding on non‑conformities along with the Quality Team
• Formatting & approving the effectiveness of the actions taken against non‑conformities
• Identifying new concepts in HSE & implementing suitable ones
• Monitoring the performance of internal auditors
• Conducting all types of Quality/HSE audits within the Company along with Quality personnel
• Developing and executing the HSE Plans

Skills/Experience

• University Degree in Engineering (Preferably Industrial / Mechanical / Electromechanical / Electrical)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE activities in Manufacturing, Engineering Industry within UAE
• International exposure
• Experienced in Oil and Gas Industry
• Certification for Lead Auditor ISO 45001, Nebosh HSE certification, NDT L2

Physical And Mental Requirements

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells
• Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to communicate effectively
• Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
• Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection when needed in manufacturing environments
• Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off‑site locations when necessary
