Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified HSE Engineer to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across our UAE-based construction projects. The role will lead HSE management systems implementation, mitigate on-site risks, and ensure full alignment with UAE federal laws, local municipal regulations, and industry best practices. You will be responsible for conducting safety audits, delivering training, and driving a culture of HSE excellence to protect personnel, assets, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management plans tailored to UAE construction standards (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Trakhess guidelines).
- Conduct regular on-site inspections to identify health/safety/environmental hazards, and coordinate corrective actions to resolve non-compliance.
- Lead safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training programs for construction teams, ensuring 100% personnel awareness of local regulations.
- Manage incident reporting (near-misses, accidents) in line with UAE labor laws, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.
- Oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution control, and adherence to UAE environmental protection directives.
- Liaise with local authorities (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Trakhess, Fujairah Dibba Municipality) for HSE permit applications, inspections, and regulatory updates.
- Prepare HSE documentation (risk assessments, method statements, monthly compliance reports) for internal review and government submissions.
Skills
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Academic Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- UAE Government Certifications
- Active membership in the UAE Society of Engineers (S.O.E).
- Trakhess Approval (Green & Orange) – to manage both routine safety tasks and high-risk operations.
- Local municipal certification (e.g., Dubai Municipality Engineer Approval (minimum G+1) or Dibba Municipality Approval (for Fujairah-based projects)) – to comply with emirate-specific HSE regulations.
