Job Description

Maintain full knowledge of dining room layout, table / seat assignments, table setups, restaurant capacity, operating hours, price range, dress code, and daily operational updates including arrivals, departures, VIPs, and group activities.

Adhere to all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.

Answer telephone calls within three rings using correct greetings and professional etiquette.

Record, confirm, and update restaurant reservations and cancellations in line with departmental procedures.

Communicate any reservation or cancellation changes to management in a timely manner.

Monitor and prepare daily assignments ensuring compliance with service standards.

Ensure menus and check folders are clean, organized, and available in sufficient quantity.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hostess stand.

Review the reservation book, pre‑assign tables, and coordinate special guest requests.

Greet guests professionally at the restaurant entrance and escort them to their designated table.

Present menus to guests and ensure they are satisfied with their seating.

Ensure tables are set and maintained according to service standards.

Anticipate busy periods and implement procedures to manage waiting lines effectively.

Proactively identify and respond to guest needs, maintaining a high level of service at all times.

Maintain positive guest relations by delivering courteous, friendly, and professional service.

Stay knowledgeable about hotel services and activities to handle guest inquiries accurately.

Address guest complaints following service recovery procedures and promptly inform the Team Leader.

Monitor guest reactions and communicate feedback to management to ensure continuous satisfaction.

Ensure tables are cleared and reset according to departmental guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness and proper working condition of section equipment and supplies.

Support restaurant colleagues with operational tasks to ensure smooth service delivery.

Promote cooperation and teamwork to enhance productivity and service quality.

Promote F&B products and offerings to guests where appropriate.

Complete all training requirements successfully.

Assist the Supervisor in ensuring cashiering procedures are followed accurately and balanced.

Assist with menu printing and preparation.

Report for duty on time wearing the correct uniform and name tag; follow all appearance and hygiene standards.

Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and other departments.

Comply with all hotel policies, including Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety regulations.

Comply with all local legislation and regulatory requirements.

Adapt to departmental changes as needed by the operation.

Demonstrate flexibility in performing additional duties within job capability, including cross‑departmental support when required.

Attend trainings, meetings, and required departmental briefings.
