An educational institution in Dubai is seeking a dynamic Head of English Department to lead the English faculty and ensure high standards of teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree, substantial teaching experience, and a proven track record in leadership and curriculum development. You will foster a culture of academic excellence and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance student outcomes. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of English Department (HOD) to lead, manage and develop the English faculty ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement. The HOD will be responsible for curriculum planning, faculty mentoring, performance monitoring, and fostering a culture of academic excellence.
Lead the English Department ensuring delivery of a high-quality curriculum in line with school/college standards.
Develop, review and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching strategies.
Mentor, train and support English teachers to enhance instructional practices.
Monitor student performance, conduct assessments and ensure academic progress.
Organize departmental meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.
Ensure compliance with educational policies, examination standards and accreditation requirements.
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking and communication skills.
Collaborate with school leadership on strategic planning and resource allocation.
Handle departmental administration including timetabling, workload management and reporting.
Engage with parents, students and stakeholders regarding academic progress and initiatives.
Masters degree in English Literature / English Language or related field (PhD preferred).

Minimum 710 years of teaching experience with at least 35 years in a leadership role.
Strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
Proven track record of improving student outcomes and driving academic excellence.
Experience in curriculum design, assessment strategies and modern pedagogical practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents and management.
