Overview

As a Junior Highway Design Engineer you will play a crucial role in supporting the design and development of highway and road infrastructure projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers you will contribute to various aspects of the design process gaining hands-on experience in geometric design, materials selection, traffic analysis and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior engineers in developing highway and road layouts using design software.
  • Support the creation of geometric designs while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Assist in the design of horizontal and vertical alignments under the supervision of experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to the development of profiles and cross-sections to meet design specifications.
  • Ensure that designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Learn and stay updated on design innovations and industry best practices.
  • Support the preparation of detailed design drawings and documentation for construction projects.
  • Contribute to the creation of design reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Implement corrective actions based on project feedback and guidance.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams learning from experienced professionals.
  • Participate in project meetings contributing insights and gaining exposure.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in highway design and traffic engineering.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
