We are looking for a Head of Tech to lead our world-class software, data science, GIS, and infra teams at Nabat as we build the premier platform for large-scale ecosystem management, restoration and monitoring.
🔹Your responsibilities
- Own and evolve Nabat’s technology strategy and roadmap, aligned with product, science, and business goals
- Lead and scale multi-disciplinary engineering teams across software, data science, GIS, and infrastructure
- Stay technically engaged: reviewing architectures, challenging assumptions, and staying close to implementation
- Ensure our platform excels in scalability, performance, reliability, and security
- Partner closely with product, science, and commercial stakeholders to deliver real-world impact
- Build a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, learning, and delivery
- Mentor and develop senior engineers, tech leads, and managers
🔹What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate checks all of these boxes.
- 10+ years of progressive technical experience, growing from hands-on software / AI / platform engineering into principal engineer, tech lead, solution architect, and engineering manager/director roles
- Still enjoys coding, reviewing merge requests, and deep technical discussions
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing and scaling culturally diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering teams of 25+ ICs
- 3+ years building successful commercial products or platforms in the geospatial / remote sensing / Earth observation / image analytics domain
- Experience in nature, climate, agri-tech, or similarly scientific, data-intensive domains is a strong plus
- This is not a fit for purely enterprise B2B SaaS, research-only projects, or internal tooling backgrounds
- 3+ years building products where AI, ML, and data science are core to the platform, not experimental features or add-ons
- 3+ years in fast-paced, truly agile startup environments
- Comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and shipping real products (not corporate “IT” or textbook Scrum)
- Based in, or willing to relocate to the UAE within 3 months
