Job summary

A prominent global company based in the UAE is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and leadership skills, with a background in managing audits and compliance with accounting standards like IFRS/GAAP. The role requires 5–7 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory position. Candidates must be available to join immediately.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, compliance, and audits.
• Open to male and female candidates currently based in the UAE.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and general ledger.
• Lead month-end and year-end closings with timely reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP, tax regulations, and internal control policies.
• Oversee internal and external audits, preparing schedules and addressing findings.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial resources.

Skills

Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)

Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics)

Advanced MS Excel

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Leadership and team development

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
