Position Summary
HCPL Global is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Support Engineer with deep expertise in IBM Power systems, enterprise storage, SAN, and network operations. This role is essential to maintaining high availability, performance, and security across critical infrastructure components in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Detailed Job Description
As an Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration and support of IBM Power servers, storage arrays, SAN fabrics, and network switches. You’ll play a key role in ensuring system health, optimizing performance, and supporting business continuity. The role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices across server, storage, and network domains. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain operational excellence and support enterprise-grade infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and troubleshoot IBM Power systems (AIX, Linux on Power)
  • Manage LPARs, PowerVM virtualization, patching, and performance tuning
  • Administer enterprise-class storage systems (IBM and multi-vendor)
  • Handle provisioning, replication, snapshots, and backup integration
  • Configure and monitor Fibre Channel SAN switches (Brocade/Cisco)
  • Perform zoning, fabric optimization, and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Manage LAN/WAN switches, VLANs, and routing configurations
  • Conduct daily health checks, incident detection, and root cause analysis
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and support BC/DR operations
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure support roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM Power systems and PowerVM
  • Proficiency in enterprise storage administration and SAN operations
  • Experience with Brocade/Cisco SAN switches and zoning configurations
  • Solid understanding of network switching and routing (Cisco or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert – Power Systems
  • Experience with hybrid cloud storage integrations
  • Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Shell scripting)
  • Exposure to SDN and network virtualization technologies
