Are you passionate about empowering families and ensuring children are ready for school? Vogel is seeking a dedicated Grants Coordinator to provide strategic design, execution, management, and measurement of our grants programs. In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for increasing gift revenue and donor engagement. Your work will involve researching funding sources, writing persuasive proposals, and maintaining strong relationships with funders.

By developing effective grant strategies, you'll help Vogel secure the resources necessary to support children and their families. As a member of the Development Team, you will report directly to the President/CEO and work collaboratively with Senior Managers to align funding requests with program goals.

This is a full-time salaried position with a salary range of $60,000 - $72,500 per year.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.

What You'll Do:
Scope of Responsibility
  • Strategic design, execution, management, and measurement of Vogel's grants programs.
  • Increasing gift revenue and donor engagement.
  • Reporting to the President/CEO.
  • Serving as a member of the Development Team led by the Chief Development Officer.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Grant Development and Management
  • Research potential grant funding sources (corporations, foundations, organizations, government) and collect data to analyze gift potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the President/CEO and other Sr. Managers to understand program goals and priorities to write meaningful proposals.
  • Develop specific requests as grant opportunities become available.
  • Write and submit proposals, applications, and follow up reports.
  • Develop and maintain a timeline for grant proposals.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
  • Maintain grant files and records.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track grants, produce contact notes, and conduct appropriate follow-up.
  • Develop a portfolio of reports from the Salesforce data base for measuring performance, analysis, and reporting.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
What Will Make You Successful in This Role (Skills):
  • Experience: 3-5 years of Development experience, including demonstrated success in grant writing, preferably in a non-profit community-based organization.
  • Fundraising: Proven success in identifying and soliciting funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations from a variety of sources and in developing relationships with donors.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Writing: Demonstrated ability to write clear and persuasive proposals.
  • Organization: Excellent time management skills and a high degree of organization, careful attention to detail, ability to multitask and to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Office programs and donor database systems.
  • Data Systems: Knowledge and experience of data entry systems and reporting (Salesforce experience preferred).
  • Work Style: Well-disciplined, self-motivated and goal-driven; able to work with a high degree of independence as well as part of a team.
  • Integrity: Ability to appropriately handle confidential matters and information.
  • Availability: Ability to work on selected weekdays, nights and weekend evenings as required.
  • Mission Alignment: Upbeat, positive, warm, and outgoing personality, with a passion for Vogel's mission.
