Job summary

A luxury hotel in the region is seeking a skilled General Technician to support the maintenance of hotel facilities. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to maintenance requests, and conduct inspections. Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of experience in a hotel environment and knowledge of general maintenance trades such as electrical and plumbing. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated General Technician to join our Engineering team and support the smooth operation and maintenance of the hotel.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance works across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and hotel facilities.
  • Attend to daily maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance issues, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum satisfaction.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify faults, wear and tear, and safety risks.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and work areas are maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Support major repairs, renovations, and projects as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.
  • Follow all hotel safety procedures, fire life safety standards, and IHG brand guidelines.
  • Maintain proper records of maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
What we need from you
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
  • Basic technical certification or vocational training is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Physically fit and able to handle maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Previous experience with international hotel brands is an advantage.
