Job summary

A well-established company in Al Ain is seeking a reliable General Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations. You will be responsible for financial reporting, managing accounts payable/receivable, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting and has over 5 years of experience in the travel or service industry. Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software is required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience preferably within the travel or service industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Familiarity with travel booking systems and supplier reconciliation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Handle general accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable ensuring timely payments and collections.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented General Accountant to join a well-established company in Al Ain. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting and support management in maintaining a strong financial control environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle general accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare financial statements, management reports and budget analyses.
  • Monitor company expenses and assist in preparing VAT returns and other statutory reports.
  • Verify and reconcile supplier invoices particularly related to travel bookings and services.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Support annual audits by providing required schedules and documentation.
  • Maintain proper filing and record keeping of all financial transactions.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 23 years of accounting experience preferably within the travel or service industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with travel booking systems and supplier reconciliation processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willing to be based in Al Ain.
