Job summary

A leading catering service in Dubai is seeking a quality-driven Food Safety Inspector. This role involves undertaking scheduled inspections to ensure food safety standards are met, including verification of critical control points. Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant experience, Level 2 Food Safety Training, and strong communication skills. The position requires the ability to work effectively in a team and manage personal hygiene verifications. A Bachelor's degree in a science-related field is preferable.

Job description
Job Purpose:

Maintain high standards of food safety by undertaking scheduled inspections and verification of CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs, and by informing the senior members of the department and stakeholders of any discrepancy. Assist in the laboratory work where required.

Key Result Areas:
  1. Verify or Verify CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs established as per the Hazard Control Plan to ensure compliance with food safety standards. This includes all relevant areas such as receiving, chilled storage, cooking, blast chilling, portioning, tray setup, and final meal dispatch for airline and commercial clients.
  2. Conduct Food Safety inspection and prepare food safety spot check reports for any deviations and observations.
  3. Conduct Toolbox Talks (TBTs) focused on Critical Control Points (CCPs), OPRPs, Prerequisite Programs (PRPs), and relevant food safety practices.
  4. Food sample collection for microbiology analysis as per the plan given.
  5. Verification of potential source of foreign object, investigate and mitigate inhouse foreign object incidents.
  6. Take part in staff camp inspection monthly.
  7. Support in thermometer calibration weekly and monthly.
  8. Support in food safety data gathering, customer complaint investigation and document collection during traceability.
  9. Conduct Personal hygiene verification of Food Handlers, Supplier and contract staff and report any deviations to the established personal hygiene policy.
  10. Support Food Safety Management whenever required to do other operational requirements.
Job Context:

The job holder is responsible for undertaking scheduled inspections and verification for maintaining high standards of food safety at EKFC to ensure that the food produced at the facility meets set standards and is safe.

The standards being adhered to in maintaining food safety are based on EKFC’s pre-established Food Safety Standards, GFSI bench marked FSMS standards, Local Government Regulations and Airline Customers requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience:
Education Qualification:
  • Level 2 Food Safety Training (must have)
  • Food Safety Level 3 (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably with a background in science (preferred)
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years general experience in a similar position.
  • Food production or related field.
  • Hands on Experience on BRCGS standards and HACCP principles.
Skills:
  • Should have good communication skills and fluent in English Language.
  • Should be able to work effectively as part of a team and able to organize own work.
