Job summary

A leading marine company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support Project Management in achieving environmental goals. Responsibilities include monitoring subcontractors, conducting assessments, and providing training. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in a related field, NEBOSH or IOSH certification, and at least 3 years of experience in similar industries, preferably in dredging and civil marine projects.

Qualifications

• Holder of NEBOSH / IOSH Diploma or equivalent internationally recognized certification preferable.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in similar industries.
• Flexible in terms of work location (onshore or offshore).

Responsibilities

• Support Project Management in achieving Environmental goals and KPIs.
• Monitor subcontractors' implementation of HSEMS.
• Conduct Environmental Aspect and Impact assessments.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supports Project Management in achieving Environmental goals and KPls as set for the project
• Can support the staff of more than one project with his knowledge of projects environmental aspects / impacts.
• Monitor and ensure subcontractors implementation of HSEMS.
• Implement and monitor performance of Environment Management System requirements
• Conduct Environment Aspect / Impact assessment for activities.
• Conduct Environmental awareness / training sessions.
• Reports to Environmental Superintendent on all project Environmental issues.
• Supports Environmental Engineer and Project Manager in adherence to Environment Management Plans
• Performs incident and accident investigations and report findings back to Environmental Superintendent
• Assists and performs internal management system audits to monitor compliance with the company EMS
• Reporting the performance details of the Implemented HSEMS to the top management at periodic intervals and during the Management Review meetings.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a related field, or equivalent
• Holder of NEBOSH / IOSH Diploma or an equivalent internationally recognized HSE certification is preferable
• Minimum 03 years of related work experience in similar industries
• Flexible in terms of work location (onshore or offshore)
• Preferably with experience in dredging and civil marine projects
