Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in American/English Literature, Applied Linguistics, or a related field from an accredited university.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in a university setting.
• Experience teaching IELTS/TOEFL courses is preferred.
• IELTS minimum score of 8.0.
• Preferably native English speaker.

Job Responsibilities

1. Help students develop English language skills, including preparation for TOEFL and IELTS tests and language development courses at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
2. Coordinate the development of academic literacy through the writing lab with both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
3. Extend English language support to students who meet AUE language entry requirements but are still struggling with their studies.
4. Provide academic, personal advising, and counseling in terms of writing and communication development.
5. Review, revise and enhance the English Language program curriculum, student assessment, and activities.
6. Engage with lecturers concerning the academic writing of their students.
7. Market and create awareness of the writing lab among students at AUE.
8. Support and engage with post-graduate master’s students to help improve their academic writing.
