Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Coordinator to join our team at So/ Uptown Dubai. As an Engineering Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering department's daily operations, ensuring smooth communication and maintaining efficient administrative processes.

  1. Assist in creating purchase orders and ordering materials for the Engineering department.
  2. Manage and monitor task management systems for engineering-related work orders.
  3. Schedule work with third-party contractors and oversee regular maintenance schedules.
  4. Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to maintain life safety and health-related documents.
  5. Process and track invoices for purchased items, contract labor, and service calls.
  6. Coordinate payroll processing and post schedules for the Engineering team.
  7. Participate actively in energy conservation programs and initiatives.
  8. Review guest and meeting planner feedback to identify and address issues promptly.
  9. Execute additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
  10. Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies related to engineering operations.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and task management systems.
  3. Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting required; luxury hotel experience is a plus.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping.
  7. Basic understanding of purchasing, inventory management, and payroll processing.
  8. Familiarity with engineering department operations and maintenance procedures.
  9. Knowledge of life safety and health-related documentation requirements.
  10. Understanding of energy conservation principles and practices.
  11. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  12. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  13. Valid work authorization for the United Arab Emirates.
