Job summary

An aviation maintenance company in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced aircraft maintenance technician. The role involves performing maintenance, repairing aircraft to ensure airworthiness, and coordinating with team members. Candidates should have a Higher National Diploma in aeronautical studies or mechanical engineering, alongside necessary licenses and 5-10 years of fixed wings aircraft maintenance experience. The position may require traveling or relocating to Forward Operating Bases (FOB).

Job description

Report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor on all related maintenance operations.

Carry out directives from Maintenance Supervsior. Accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and performs 1st and 2nd line maintenance inspections, services, and repairs on all assigned aircraft. Follow proper maintenance documenattion in the ERP system used ( AADMIS) and on hard copies of aircraft logbooks and other forms and records. Coordinate with other team members on the daily maintenance priorities.

Responsibilities
  1. Services, repairs and overhauls aircrafts to ensure airworthiness, in accordance with approved methods and procedures.
  2. Performing, coordinating and / or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and / or workers.
  3. Is responsible for coordinating the work of other workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft.
  4. Serves as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic repairs to the assigned aircraft.
  5. Checks all functional and support systems.
  6. Determines what systems are malfunctioning; searches repair directives, technical orders, and manuals to determine repairs needed.
  7. Determines when the nature and scope of repair involves other trades, e.g., engine mechanics, electricians, electronics mechanics, or integrated systems mechanics and coordinate the work of these individuals with the other trades.
  8. Checks / reviews the work of other trades to ensure completion when working with other trades
  9. Conducts functional tests of repairs and modifications to ensure proper operation.
  10. Is responsible for grounding an aircraft when the severity of a malfunction warrants it and may be responsible for releasing the aircraft to service after repairs are completed and tested.
  11. Inspects and prepares forms and records related to maintenance in accordance with OEM Manua and customer regulations
  12. Train host national personnel on the proper maintenance of aircraft.
  13. Must be willing to travel or relocate to Forward Operating Bases (FOB) in support of the aircraft maintenance program.
  14. Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification
  • Higher National Diploma in aeronautical studies or mechanical engineering.
  • Must have current and valid documentation showing type of training or a completion of a formal aircraft maintenance training course from an accredited military or civilian aeronautical school.
  • Military training school graduate preferred but not required.
  • Must have EASA or FAA A&P License or equivalent certification with no prior FAR violations.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of all computer office applications.
Experience
  • Must have 5-10 years experience working on fixed wings aircraft maintenance.
  • Must have thorough knowledge on use of common tools, special tools, hardware, and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft.
  • Must be quality oriented.
  • Must possess knowledge of aeronautical regulations.
