A leading recruitment consultancy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop and supervise the creation of designs for HV, MV, and LV systems for large infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will establish work scopes, prepare budgets, and coordinate with various design teams. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience in electrical design adhering to local and international standards. Strong project management and technical skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience for Engineer role.
• Minimum 8 years experience for Senior Engineer role.
• Thorough knowledge of IEC and various local authority standards in the GCC.

Job description

Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of Electrical engineering designs for HV MV LV systems and networks for large and mega infrastructure projects that meet customer quality requirements and international as well as Local Authority regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

Establish the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction and reporting the work status.

Develop Master plan report, derive demand load calculations, size major equipment and circuits, and perform selective protection coordination tie‑in point requirements.

Full understanding of dry utilities and infrastructure projects from Concept to IFC stage.

Prepare master plans from Concept stage to Detailed Master Plan stage in terms of HV and LV utility corridor space proofing, defining ROW requirements, and coordinating with wet utilities, ICT, Telecom, roads, transportation, landscape and building design teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 4 years experience for Engineer
• Minimum 8 years experience for Senior Engineer
• Recent experience of HV, MV & LV electrical design to local and international standards
• Experience in engineering software for power system analysis (fault current, load flow, etc.) is an added advantage
• Thorough knowledge of IEC and various local authority standards in the GCC such as DEWA, SEWA, FEWA, Civil Defense, Etisalat, Du, etc.
• Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects
• Understanding of the requirements for primary substations (132/11 kV HV corridor distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars, service turrets), MV systems up to 132 kV, and LV networks
• Calculations and report writing skills
