Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor. The role involves supervising a team, overseeing installation and maintenance of E&I systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential. This is a full-time position with no remote work options.

Job description

1. Supervision & Coordination

• Lead and manage a team of E&I technicians and electricians.
• Assign tasks monitor progress and ensure quality workmanship.
• Coordinate with other departments (mechanical operations HSE etc.) for smooth execution of tasks.

2. Installation & Maintenance

• Oversee the installation testing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Ensure proper maintenance of electrical panels motors transformers control systems and field instruments.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation faults to minimize downtime.

3. Permit to Work (PTW) & Safety Compliance

• Ensure all E&I work is performed under the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
• Adhere to HSE policies and industry safety standards (OSHA NFPA IEC ATEX etc.).
• Conduct safety toolbox talks and enforce PPE compliance among team members.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of work performed test reports and material usage.
• Prepare daily progress reports and communicate with project managers.
• Ensure compliance with electrical drawings P&IDs loop diagrams and as-built documentation.

5. Troubleshooting & Optimization

• Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies in electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Recommend improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Experience: 5 years in oil & gas (E&I supervision).
• Certifications: PTW certification CompEx (for hazardous areas) H2S Awareness and First Aid (preferred).
• Skills: Strong knowledge of PLCs SCADA DCS and field instrumentation.
