POSITION DESCRIPTION

Plans, organises, schedules, and directs all maintenance and production control activities for a major maintenance and logistics program in the UAE. Ensures processes comply with the latest ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards. Adheres to applicable health, safety and environmental directives and promotes a safe and healthy working environment. Ensures compliance with all company policies, manuals, procedures and work instructions.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement and revise the strategic processes of the Maintenance and Production Control Department based on the organisation’s business plan(s).
  • Oversee and review all maintenance and production control functions to ensure alignment of department objectives to overall program goals.
  • Perform quality work as part of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System program.
  • Direct senior managers in production planning, scheduling, data analysis, spare parts availability and workshop loading.
  • Review all department activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and established Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.
  • Direct depot-level maintenance support to include maintenance and modification of track-laying and wheeled vehicles, electronics testing and repair, allied trades support and assembly/component overhauling.
  • Oversee the development of performance metrics for the department to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded.
  • Coordinate, plan, prepare, review and execute the Annual Maintenance Plan in accordance with project requirements.
  • Monitor execution of the plan and other maintenance-directed activities using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Prepare routine reports for senior management and the client’s Program Management Office.
  • Develop, monitor and manage the annual budget of the Maintenance and Production Control Department.
  • Oversee the development and execution of On-the-Job Training (OJT) and apprentice programs.
  • Ensure that all workshops maintain the highest standards of housekeeping, safety, hazardous material storage and property accountability.
  • Support program growth through third-party revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company documents.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred) or equivalent years of experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of ten to twelve years of experience in maintenance management, or production control.
  • Previous depot-level maintenance experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in project management and managing complex projects preferred.
  • Previous experience using a CMMS such as MAXIMO, SAP, etc. is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and ISO methodologies, practices and processes in a large-scale maintenance environment is an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
