Job Title -Design Coordinator
About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Design Coordinator to support retail fit-out and store-design projects. The successful candidate will assist in coordinating design development, managing documentation, liaising with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring design integrity during execution in a retail development and store-environment context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design process for retail stores: assist in concept development, space planning, finishes/specification, fixtures and fittings.
  • Prepare and update drawings, 3D visuals, schedules, finish boards and material specifications in coordination with the design team and store-design guidelines.
  • Liaise with architecture/interior teams, procurement, project management and site contractors to ensure design deliverables are aligned with project timelines, budgets and brand standards.
  • Maintain project documentation and drawing control: revisions, approvals, as-built drawings and archive key design assets.
  • Coordinate with vendors/suppliers: collect quotations, track lead times for materials/fixtures, ensure on-time delivery of design items and monitor installation status on site.
  • Conduct site visits when required: check installation of design elements, reporting discrepancies or quality issues, and follow up until resolution.
  • Monitor design-budget spend, track change-orders, variations and support cost-control measures related to design components.
  • Support the rollout of new store launches, refurbishments or store-churn projects: manage checklist of design deliverables, installation schedules, hand-over documentation and ensure consistency across retail network.
  • Assist in maintaining brand and store-design standards: review stores for compliance with design guidelines, document deviations and propose corrective action.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the design team and senior management: status updates, milestone tracking, vendor performance, cost/schedule variances and risk escalations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in retail store design, fit-out coordination, interior design or project coordination within retail or commercial environments.
  • Proficient in design/drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or equivalent) and familiar with finishes, fixtures, furniture and joinery specifications.
  • Strong organisational and documentation-management skills: able to maintain drawing libraries, track revisions, and ensure clarity of records.
  • Good communication and coordination skills: comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders (design team, procurement, contractors, store operations).
  • Knowledge of retail store build-out process (shopfitting, finishes, MEP coordination) and understanding of quality/installation standards is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
  • Professional, well-presented and able to work flexible hours if required (site-visits, store roll-outs).
Key Competencies & Behaviours
  • Detail-oriented: ensures accuracy in drawings, specifications and installation verification.
  • Collaborative: works well across teams, shares information, supports execution and ensures alignment across design and delivery.
  • Proactive & resourceful: anticipates potential design or installation issues, raises flags early and drives resolution.
  • Reliable & deadline-driven: manages multiple projects or stores, tracks milestones and keeps projects on schedule.
  • Brand-aware & quality-driven: champions the brand's design identity, ensures consistency and high visual standards in store environments.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits aligned with UAE market and experience.
  • Opportunity to work in an exciting retail-fit-out and store-development environment across the UAE region.
  • Exposure to flagship store projects, multi-store roll-outs, and professional growth in the store-design discipline.
  • A collaborative team culture with opportunities for learning and taking on greater responsibilities.
