Job Description:

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Pediatric Hematologist with expertise in Bone Marrow Transplantation to join our clients' prestigious healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be Western Board Certified and have extensive experience managing complex pediatric haematological disorders, including performing and overseeing bone marrow transplant procedures in children. This is a unique opportunity to provide expert care to young patients, contribute to clinical research, and help shape the future of pediatric haematology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage many pediatric haematological conditions including leukaemia, lymphoma, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and other blood disorders.
  • Perform and oversee bone marrow transplant procedures including autologous and allogeneic transplants in pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pediatric oncologists, immunologists, transplant coordinators, and nursing staff to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff including residents and fellows in pediatric haematology and bone marrow transplant protocols.
  • Participate in clinical research and contribute to advancements in pediatric haematology and transplantation.
  • Provide education and counselling to patients and families regarding treatment options, transplant procedures, and post-transplant care.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in pediatric hematology and bone marrow transplantation through continuing medical education and participation in relevant conferences.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation of medical records, treatment plans, and billing information.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing clinical protocols and guidelines for pediatric haematology and transplantation services.

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Western Board Certification in Pediatric Hematology (mandatory).
  • Advanced training and significant experience in Bone Marrow Transplantation (mandatory).
  • Valid medical licensure or eligibility for licensure in the jurisdiction of practice.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pediatric haematology, including substantial experience in performing and managing bone marrow transplants.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex pediatric haematological conditions and providing compassionate care to children and their families.
  • Strong research background with a commitment to advancing the field of pediatric haematology and transplantation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with young patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
