What will I be doing

As Reservations Manager you are responsible for achieving occupancy targets/levels as identified in the annual budget and marketing plan for Reservations.

You will work with the Sales and Events Teams to develop future and repeat business opportunities and perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Maximise occupancy levels by reviewing and revising revenue strategies
  • Work with the Sales and Events Teams to maximise corporate and group rates
  • Manage third‑party sites and agents to establish rates, negotiate prices, ensure proper implementation of reservation procedures and maximise conversion ratios to achieve departmental targets
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel and manage the department’s adherence to that strategy
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to keep the hotel ahead locally
  • Ensure Team Members are developed effectively and foster a culture of high‑quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, billing, and contract processing
  • Build strong relationships with customers, guests, and Team Members to fully understand their needs and serve them effectively
  • Assist in recruiting, managing, training, and developing the Team
  • Participate in the organisation of hotel promotional activities

It would be advantageous for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems
  • Previous experience in the same or similar role
  • Relevant degree in a business discipline from an academic institution
