Job summary

An engineering consultancy in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in sewage and infrastructure projects. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Work on projects involving Sewage & Stormwater, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks Pumping Station, Recycling Plant and rehabilitation works.
  • Undertake investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, and construction supervising & monitoring.
  • Technical Delivery: interact with clients and contractor staff to determine and verify project requirements, prepare inspection reports and site records, perform civil and structural tests, provide general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship, identify non‑conforming works, generate reports and corrective actions, and coordinate responses.
  • Collaboration: work with engineers to solve project design problems, support basic design calculations, conduct technical feasibility studies and site investigations, liaise with teams working remotely globally to facilitate task completion, and communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
  • Client Service Management: internal and external client liaison, build and maintain lasting positive relationships, experience in utility diversions and management, proficiency in Excel and MS Word.
  • Follow safe work practices, adhere to company guidelines for safe execution of work, complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values, Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures, and design for safety (Construction Design Management).
  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Assistant Resident Engineer.
Qualifications
  • Relevant technical qualification with not less than 5 years of experience in miscellaneous Sewage work projects and supervision of infrastructure works.
  • Diploma/Degree in Civil.
  • Well experienced in survey work with modern instruments and in keeping site measurement records.
  • Experience in identifying non‑conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
