JOB PURPOSE
Developing and updating the strategic framework for research and development within the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), overseeing the implementation and monitoring of R&D projects, and establishing strategic institutional partnerships to support the execution of research projects. This includes providing advice and guidance in the preparation and implementation of research projects, promoting best practices across the organization, and identifying international best practices in R&D for implementation within the RTA.
KEY RESULTS ACCOUNTABILITIES
- # Prepare reports on the implementation of corporate research and necessary improvement/development plans
- # Prepare periodic reports on performance indicators and research initiatives, and provide recommendations
- # Work on any additional responsibilities as directed by the department manager or the director of administration
- # Provide consultation, review all submitted research proposals, assess their scope, validity, and alignment with the RTA's objectives and research framework, and recommend improvements/changes as needed
- # Develop and deliver awareness programs regarding R&D policies to all RTA employees
- # Develop and prepare international/national agreements/memoranda of understanding to enhance the RTA's position in research, development, and innovation
- # Develop and prepare all policies and processes related to R&D for the RTA. Develop and prepare the framework and lead the RTA's Research and Development Center, coordinating with local and international partners
- # Coordinate all forms of national and international collaboration with public bodies, private companies, academic institutions, and research-focused organizations, and establish partnerships to secure funding/sponsorship for research activities within the RTA and for university students
- # Develop tools and processes to help researchers work effectively with external partners
- # Develop and implement diverse and transformative research and development programs, ensuring the quality of research developed by/with the RTA adheres to international standards, and measuring its impact and progress accordingly
- # Develop and supervise research projects aligned with the R&D strategy, monitor their implementation with partners, and identify pioneering research projects that achieve strategic goals and leadership in R&D for the RTA
- # Develop and monitor the R&D framework for the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and all corporate research projects, in accordance with RTA guideline
- # Support intellectual growth and openness with internal researchers to encourage their research and development activities
- # Provide strategic support and collaboration through legal expertise in intellectual property to assist researchers in registering their intellectual property rights related to their research

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Business Administration, or equivalent from an accredited university
- 11 years of work experience
