Job Description Summary
The Wind Turbine Blade Project Manager oversees the planning, execution and delivery of projects related to wind turbine blade manufacturing, marshalling harbour repair, refurbishment and/or installation until taking‑over of the asset by the customer. This role involves coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing budgets and schedules, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards and maintaining alignment with customer and organizational objectives.
Job Description
What’ll do:
- Lead project kickoff meetings; define scope, deliverables and milestones.
- Own detailed project plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocations for blade repair, refurbishment or swap projects.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans to ensure on‑time and on‑budget completion.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Drive alignment between GE VERNOVA Wind Blades factories and project planning to establish and maintain the blade manufacturing and delivery schedule.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including engineering, production, quality, procurement, logistics and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) for the wing‑to‑wing delivery of the Blade package.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
- Lead all customer‑facing activities, including internal and external reviews, weekly and bi‑weekly progress meetings and issue‑resolution tracking.
- Facilitate communication across teams and resolve project‑related conflicts.
Technical & Quality Oversight
- Oversee technical aspects of blade projects, including design changes, material selection, manufacturing methods and repair procedures.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards (e.g., IEC, DNV‑GL) and company quality control processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot technical challenges.
- Lead any Blade quality related topic, including ITP milestones, FAT, NCR, SDR and audit support at GE VERNOVA Wind Blades factories.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all project activities adhere to safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Promote a strong safety culture across project teams and worksites.
Budget & Reporting
- Manage project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Prepare progress reports, performance metrics and stakeholder updates.
- Identify and mitigate risks impacting scope, cost or schedule.
What’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy, Supply Chain, or related experience in wind blade technical field.
- 5 years of project management experience, ideally in wind energy composites manufacturing or heavy industrial projects.
- Knowledge of offshore wind and wind turbine blade design, composites materials or repair technologies.
- This position requires 30% international travel.
