Job summary

A global engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a skilled BIM/CAD Modeler with at least 5 years of experience in CAD drafting specifically for wet and dry utilities projects. The successful candidate will work closely with design leads to develop engineering drawings, ensure compliance with project standards, and manage BIM-related activities throughout project lifecycles. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and a solid understanding of BIM processes are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of CAD drafting experience on utilities projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Good knowledge of BIM and LOD requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with BIM Lead to ensure project compliance.
• Develop engineering drawings from rough sketches.
• Review drawings for readability and adherence to standards.
• Perform clash detection and produce clash reports.

Job Title and Location

BIM/CAD Modeler (Utilities) – Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities

• Work closely with BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure project compliance with policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
• Develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, component details from rough sketches and/or general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
• Understand BIM modeling process and manage all BIM related activities from project start-up to project completion.
• Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards in accordance with company QA/QC processes.
• Create parametric and non-parametric families.
• Interpret and apply Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
• Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines on coordination issues and model development tasks.
• Use Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and produce clash reports.
• Produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Required Skills

• A diploma or degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of CAD drafting experience, specifically on wet and dry utilities projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D and ACC BIM Workflows.
• Good knowledge of BIM and understanding of Level of Development (LOD) requirements and BIM processes.
• Clear verbal and written communication in English.

Desired Skills

• UAE and GCC experience preferred.
• Experience working within a Common Data Environment, particularly ProjectWise and BIM360.
• Experience with Navisworks.
