Job Description
To provide prompt, courteous, and professional food and beverage service to the hotel’s guests while ensuring high-quality coffee preparation and excellent customer experience.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly, inform them about daily specials or new items, answer questions, and accurately take orders and process payments.
- Promote coffee consumption by educating customers about coffee varieties, brewing methods, and equipment; prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages and pastries.
- Sell coffee products and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and preparation methods, and demonstrating the use of brewing machines.
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages according to standard recipes and preparation techniques, including espresso, café latte, cappuccino, and other specialty drinks.
- Generate revenue by attracting new customers and suggesting additional or complementary products and services.
- Maintain inventory by replenishing coffee beans, stocking equipment, and ensuring adequate supplies of pastries, cookies, and other items.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained by following operating instructions, performing basic troubleshooting, carrying out preventive maintenance, and reporting any breakdowns for repair.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment in compliance with company standards and sanitation regulations.
- Continuously improve service quality by evaluating work processes, implementing improvements, and maintaining the cleanliness and visual appeal of the coffee bar and store.
- Continuously learn about coffee brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to enhance product quality.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including sanitizing tables and chairs and keeping floors free of debris.
- Strictly adhere to all food safety regulations and quality control standards.
Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
- Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently. Strong communication and customer service skills with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage products.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Secondary school education.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced, coffee-focused environment (e.g, coffee shop, lobby lounge).
- Previous experience in customer service and/or cashiering is required.
