Overview

Role: Associate Relationship Manager-Corporate Banking

Location: Dubai

Role Purpose

Support the Division Head and RMs in the overall maintenance of the assigned relationships within a Division – including but not limited to preparation of credit approval packages, AC memos, Credit Round Table “CRT” discussion materials, credit file maintenance, supporting the lead RM on business growth and operational matters. Conduct thorough financial analysis and assess credit requests, including new requests, changed requests, refinancing and annual due diligence reviews. Obtain and update banking standards such as compliance clearance, documentation checklist, call reports, etc.

Key Accountabilities
Business Proposition and Credit Analysis
  • Support Division Heads and RMs in the review and preparation of credit approval packages, AC memos, Credit Round Table “CRT” discussion materials, etc. and ensure the same are completed as per the bank’s requirements
  • Attend client calls/meetings in conjunction with the RM/Division Head in relation to the client’s banking requirements
  • Work closely with product partners – CFIB, GTB and Treasury on maximizing potential cross sell opportunities within a relationship
  • Develop and prepare spreadsheets and perform financial analysis including basic financial modeling [if applicable] and qualitative analysis to support analysis of potential and existing credit applications
  • Verify the accuracy and quality of information (both qualitative and quantitative) provided by the client
  • Carry out initial market checking and monitor credit worthiness of obligors/counterparties including search for negative press articles, rating agencies
  • Liaise with Risk in relation to the credit approval packages such as responding to queries and comments from Risk Management
  • Prepare necessary security and other documents in liaison with Legal & Sharia departments
  • Liaise with CAD as and when required during preparation of CA packages and ensure all deferred documentations are tracked and obtained on time as well as updating all the banking standards such as compliance clearance, documentation checklist, call reports etc. in a timely manner
Relationship Management
  • Achieve financial targets assigned in line with portfolio handled (e.g. total revenues, revenue from treasury products, revenue from cash management, RORC, etc.)
  • Ensure regular interaction with clients to address any banking/financial needs and effectively increase ADIB’s share of wallet
  • Work closely with customer service unit to ensure that clients’ day to day transaction needs are addressed to the customers’ satisfaction
Process Implementation
  • Track review dates, and ensure all facilities are renewed/deferred on a timely basis
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, quality, and integrity of all proposals/memos
  • Conduct client calls at least quarterly and ensure all call memos are appropriately documented capturing the contents of the meeting, business opportunities, credit financial plan etc and ensure these memos are routed via the requisite systems
  • Maintain and reconcile the credit files and identify discrepancies and variances
  • Ensure complete adherence to all KPIs (Turnaround time, Credit package quality, Review dates, etc.)
  • Ensure that all new deals in discussion are recorded and updated in deals in pipeline report on a weekly basis
Compliance
  • Ensure that activities are in full compliance of group policies and processes including Sharia requirements, Central Bank regulations and other internal Legal and Compliance regulations at all times
  • Ensure satisfactory internal and external audit ratings
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to perform data analysis, financial & credit analysis, presentation skills, etc.
