Position Summary The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a Breast Surgeon within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be an accomplished clinician‑educator and scholar with specialized expertise in breast disease and breast surgery, contributing to excellence in patient care, medical education, research, and academic leadership. This position supports UAEU’s mission to advance healthcare education, research innovation, and high‑quality clinical services aligned with national health priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, high‑quality care in breast disease, including benign and malignant conditions.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic and surgical breast procedures, including breast‑conserving surgery and multidisciplinary cancer care, in collaboration with oncology, radiology, and pathology teams.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary breast clinics and tumor boards.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of breast health services within affiliated teaching hospitals.
  • Ensure adherence to international best practices, patient safety standards, and ethical clinical care.
Teaching and Education
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate medical students, residents, fellows, and postgraduate trainees in Obstetrics & Gynecology and related programs.
  • Participate actively in curriculum development, assessment, and academic advising.
  • Serve as a role model in clinical teaching, professionalism, and evidence‑based practice.
  • Contribute to continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities.
Research and Scholarly Activity
  • Develop and sustain a productive research program in breast health, breast cancer, women’s health, or related translational/clinical research areas.
  • Publish in high‑impact, peer‑reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Secure external or internal research funding (expected at Associate/Full Professor level).
  • Supervise and mentor students and trainees in research projects.
Service and Leadership
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
  • Contribute to academic leadership, quality improvement, and strategic initiatives within CMHS.
  • Support UAEU’s mission in community engagement, women’s health advocacy, and national health priorities.
  • At senior ranks, provide academic and clinical leadership in breast surgery and women’s health programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification (or equivalent) with formal training or recognized specialization in breast surgery/breast disease.
  • Eligibility for tier‑1 consultant medical licensure in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic teaching and clinical practice.
  • Strong record of research and publications, appropriate to academic rank.
  • Commitment to excellence in education, research, and patient‑centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellowship training in Breast Surgery, Breast Oncology, or Women’s Health–related subspecialty.
  • Experience working in academic medical centers and multicultural environments.
  • Proven ability to obtain research funding and lead collaborative research projects.
  • Experience in curriculum design, program development, or academic leadership (particularly for Associate/Full Professor applicants).
