Job Description

Lead & manage a regional team of SE AMs. Support the AMs in meeting their pre-set financial & non-financial objectives.

Key result Areas
  • Responsible for developing business & establishing Mashreq as the leading SME brand in the assigned geography.
  • Drive the team on enhancing relationship revenue from existing portfolio of borrowing and non-borrowing accounts by cross-selling and up-selling products.
  • Assist the Distribution & SE Heads in developing and executing business strategy, plan and budget.
  • Develop and implement business plan to achieve pre-set financial and non-financial objectives.
  • Work with account managers in identifying business opportunities.
  • Risk
  • Review the existing portfolio in a timely manner and ensure that appropriate credit facilities are recommended in line with the bank’s credit policy to maximize earnings while containing risks to an acceptable level.
  • Follow-up and ensure the team conducts annual/ periodic credit facility reviews to existing relationships and identifying candidates for downgrades/ upgrades.
  • Follow-up and ensure the team implements and maintains complete control aspects i.e. documentation, periodical client visits/ call reports, stock inspections and formal credit checks/ informal market feedback to monitor the assigned portfolio effectively.
  • Undertaking industry and company specific research analysis. Directly interacting with industry participants.
  • Develop on the job learning curve of AM and SSO to enable them to grow & professionally and prepare them for higher levels of responsibility.
  • Managing and maintaining high staff morale to ensure superior service delivery and low staff turnover.
  • Set job objectives and perform timely review to measure performance and identify staff development and training needs.
  • To ensure clarity among staff of KPI's and job_ competencies required to effectively achieve business goals.
  • Identify and reward high performers and implement an effective retention program for critical staff.

  • Resolve complex customer complaints and analyze root cause.
  • Liaise With superiors and direct reports within the business unit, risk management and related enabler units within the bank to achieve business objectives.
  • Adhere to all policies with regard to KYC/ AML as set out by the Bank from time to time.
Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Multiproduct SME banking skill set with detailed understanding of Credit, Trade products, Legal framework etc.
  • Complete knowledge and clear understanding of bank's policy; AML & compliance policy.
  • Knowledge of various banking & financial products/ services.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to manage, lead, motivate, and monitor people.
  • Exceptional leadership and management capabilities.
