Job summary

A leading global staffing solutions company is seeking an Application Support Engineer with at least 3 years of experience. The role includes providing day-to-day application support, managing incident responses, and troubleshooting issues. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT and strong SQL, PL/SQL knowledge. Experience in the Insurance domain is preferred. Job Title: Application support engineer

Location: Sharjah

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day application support for internal and external users.
  • Manage incident responses and escalations, ensuring timely resolutions and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to application performance, user access, and functionality.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and implement solutions for application improvements.
  • Monitor application performance and conduct regular health checks.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
  • Participate in software upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the development or infrastructure teams as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security, and data protection regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users to optimize application usage.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is essential.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in application support or a similar technical role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, ERP, Database tools, Oracle, SQL databases, and server environments.
  • Experience in Insurance domain.
  • Experience in application monitoring tools and service desks.
  • Fair amount of experience in data migration etc.
  • Proficiency in English and a second language Arabic is a plus.
