Job description
The Role:

On behalf of our client, a leading company in the hard commodity sector headquartered in Abu Dhabi, we are seeking an experienced Accountant / Senior Accountant. This role requires a highly qualified professional with strong technical expertise, a hands‑on approach, and the ability to manage the full spectrum of accounting responsibilities under both international and UAE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and closing activities.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to local (UAE) and international accounting standards, tax, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting to support business operations and decision‑making.
  • Supervise audits and liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
  • Implement and enhance internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to management for strategic planning.
Ideal Profile:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of professional accounting experience, with at least 5 years in the hard commodity industry (metals, energy, resources, or related sectors).
  • Proven expertise across the entire accounting spectrum (general accounting, reporting, compliance, audits, taxation, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of UAE corporate tax framework and IFRS.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modeling, automation).
  • Fluency in English and Russian (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with a hands‑on and proactive approach.
